I really like and respect this website. Mr Holt has created the most powerful Electrician site on the web IMHO.

I want to suggest just one improvement.

Many questions and answers would be orders of magnitude easier and faster to grasp if they were depicted graphically (schematics, drawings, etc.)

Is it that the tools and GUIs are lacking or is it that most Electrical workers are more textually oriented???

Please do not take this as a negative criticism....it is a suggestion that I would recommend and am not sure why we are all not more graphical.

As an example: consider a switchboard connected to a panel connected to a xfr connected to a motor. Describe this using a schematic with voltages and currents all in english. Then look at a schematic with the same info. Which will yield better results???

It is a great idea, I nominate you to write the software and present it to vBulletin.

many of the MH PDF's do illustrate what the NEC verbiage is describing, and includes illustrated notes/caveats/exceptions, etc.

perhaps having a comprehensive table of nec sections to MH PDF's would be good.

It is possible to draw a sketch by hand, take a pic of it or scan it and then post it.

It's not a point and click solution, but it does work, and yes, diagrams and sketches do sometimes work better than words.

This is exactly all I call for until the GUIs and Tools are in place..... I admit it does take some trouble since one has to do more than just type.
