Hello All,
I attended a sewer district meeting this week. The engineer is proposing a grinder pump for every two houses to lift sewage to a main line on the hill. His design calls for a tap outside the dwellings between the meter and the service disconnect inside the house. I would consider this a service tap. The way I read 230.82, I don't see how this can be done. I would think that the pump would have to be a branch circuit off the MDP with ground fault, or a new service disconnect installed outside and make this a feeder tap. What do you guys think?
