Where does it state in the code that you cant support electrical conduit or MC cable from another trades supports?
 
I don't think it does. 300.11 talks about supporting electrical raceways, but it does not prohibit supporting them from pipes or ducts or the like. On the other hand, 300.11(B) and (C) impose limitations regarding supporting non-electrical equipment from electrical conduit.
 
If I have supporting means and there is room, I use it. I stay away from using the other trades equipment for support, but use their supports.
