These are always installed were the conduit enbds on a box? D you always need a box when installing these supports?

the two can be associated or independant.

In most instances you would use them in a box or in a piece of equipment unless your conductors were somehow run in free air.

Well if you're running conduit in the shaft then you would use those cable support bushings in a box every XX number of feet depending on the size and type of conductors.
