ground floor, need to be surface mounted not recessed in concrete box and of course UL listed. It depends on what kind of floor. Is it slab-on-grade, or is there a floor below?
A simple 2x4 box like a surface mount exterior box while would work, could be a trip hazzard as a surface mount on floor. A pedestal would be more appropriate but never seen with up facing receptacle.ground floor, need to be surface mounted not recessed in concrete box and of course UL listed.
Could not find one, can below outlet be surface mounted?Do search for "Walker monument floor receptacle".
I need to be more clear, they build a small trench/pocket with nice cover on top of trench, the cover is flush with floor but openable, the trench run around perimeter of a lobby. The client wants to have power/data outlets located inside that trench. The trench is around 14" wide, besides electrical box, there is also hvac small heating pipe run along the trench, no trip hazard here as the box is below the trench.Boxes recessed into the poured concrete floor often have upward-facing receptacles, but I've never seen a monument or doghouse box that does. If you're digging up the floor to run the conduit, why not dig a little more and use a PVC floor box. They make ones thatwith so you can trim flush after the concrete sets.
Why does the socket have to face up?
This may work? Except run wireway along concrete floor...Go here to see examples
