Can SPD be installed at the main service to protect 150 dwelling units (condos)? I'm getting conflicting reports as to whether it is required in each unit panel, or just at the service. I assume at each panel is a better design, but 1 at the service is all that is required?

What does the code actually say? If it say protection is required dwelling units, that is different than if it says protection is required for each dwelling unit.

The current language permits one at the service disconnect. It is my understanding the the 2023 code will require one for each dwelling unit.
