Do any of the duplex receptacles with built in USB chargers provide surge protection? I have looked through spec's of a few and have not found where they have any surge protection.

I have not seen one. Then again I can't see the reason for installing them anyway. In a few years we'll be charging phones and other devices wirelessly and then those things will become useless permanently installed curiosities from the past.
Better to stick with plug-in chargers for now.
