Surge Protector Recommendation Needed.

I just had my dishwasher control board taken out by a surge and I suspect my fridge’s control board was also killed by a surge over a year ago. Can anyone recommend an inline surge protector with decent clamping voltage, high joule rating, and cuts off power when it needs to be replaced?

Install a type 2 at the service, then point of use at each outlet, this uses the impedance of the building wiring to reduce the surge.
I have a Leviton 51120-1 at the panel, and various types of Leviton SPD strips (type 3)

Most SPDs have an internal circuit that indicates when the SPD is no longer working. An SPD has a limited life, every day it sees hits (surges) and eventually dies.

By the way the 2020 NEC requires SPD at the service for one-two family dwellings.

Make sure your neutral connection is good, a sustained higher voltage will fry these things and stink up the house.

I see prices online for that Leviton model ranging from $151 to $253.

Using Mike’s logic, I should order from the place with this higher price.
