hi all,
I'm running the wires for a heat pump water heater for a in-ground pool for a customer. Wanted to make sure that i'm not missing anything in the code as far as GFCi protection goes. I see in article 680.28 that it says outlets for gas-fired water heaters need to be gfi protected but oddly to me I am not seeing anything about electric pool water heaters needing to be GFI protected. Am I missing something? And if i'm not why would a gas-fired water heater need to be gfi protected and an electric one wouldn't?? thank you in advanced!
