When a pool is built, the light fixture is screwed into the light niche and the light niche is bonded. When a pool is resurfaced, a light niche plaster ring is installed. The plaster ring is cemented into place on top of the old plaster. It does not touch the niche. The light fixture is then screwed into the new plaster ring. Does the electrical code require the plaster ring be bonded and if so, how?
