In remodeling a public pool there are existing flush lighting boxes 12" from the edge of the pool.These are not low voltage lights.The architect has called to reuse existing circuits.He has also asked to change the existing boxes out but use the conduit and wire.I don't believe the boxes can be changed unless they are brought up to code which is 4' from the edge.Also there is a verticle dimension to meet.There is no grounging conductor in the the existing conduits feeding the flush boxes.Please advise.

I agree. Tell the architect, politely of course, that you can't do it the way they want.
