The problem is lightning storms are toasting the pump motors.

The post mounted pool panel has a feeder with an EGC. The EGC bar is connected to a ground rod at the pool panel, but has no connection to the EPG.

Does a post mounted swimming pool panel have to be connected to the EPG?

During a storm is'nt the EPG acting as a means to disipate any lightning strikes?

The EPG is connected to the EGC through the ground wire in the pool pump circuit. Maybe this is why the motors are taking the hit? :-?

While it is not required to connect any additional jumpers between the EPG and the EGC, it may be in your best interest in this case to do so.
