swimming pool pump and ionizer

Can they be on the same circuit? The ionizer is 2 wire, how do you comply with 680.22(A)(1) if its less than 10 ft? Or does that article not apply to the ionizer?

I have installed the ionizer on the same circuit as the pool pump. The gfci will work without a neutral on the load side. The line side neutral that comes with the breaker must be installed.

Ok I wasn't sure I didn't see anything prohibiting it.
