Swimming Pool Time Clock Motor Circuit.

I have to replace the 20 amp, 240 volt swimming pool circulation motor circuit. It is an old system that is connected to an Intermatic time clock. Is this circuit now required to be GFCI proteced because of 680.22 (B) of the 2008 NEC?
