depends on the code you are using.. but I believe you have mentioned 2017 in prior posts. If you do not see the GFCI requirement in 680, refer to 210 and evaluate if there is a reason you would need GFCI for your 3-phase circuits.

Is it in 680 NEC 2017 anywhere? I also dont see where 210 would come for three phase 2017 version for direct hard wire pool pump?

Where in 680 part II NEC 2017 says to provide gfi for direct connect hard wire three phase pool pump?
I never said that is what the code requires...I just said that is where you will find the answer if you have a code book to read. Not going to give you the section or the answer.

I found part II 680 for single phase pump motor 120 thru 240V in NEC 2017 direct connection . I didnt find three phase pool pump 3 phase motor direct connect require gfci. If I had found it I wouldn’t have posted the question here?

you found what the code says why would you think a 3 phase rule would be in a different place than the single phase rule???????????????

Because code does not say anything for three phase motors while it does for single phase.
If 3 phase motors were included then code would say so or say motor instead of spelling out single phase 120v to 240v??

You found your answer. The requirements only say single phase, so the fact that they omitted 3 phase means it isn't required on those. Rock210 also pointed you to article 210 which is another place where GFCI requirements are. None of those apply to 3 phase either.

Look at 210.8(B) consider also reasoning behind the GFCI requirements

Are you implying to use 210.8(b) wet location? Because 210.8(b) is for receptacles outlet 2017 NEC.

I have 3 phase direct hard wire pool pump. Direct hard wire is not receptacle. In NEC 2017 680 part II only addresses to have gfci for direct hardwire single phase 120V to 240V.

I have no idea what Don and you are saying. Please just say it? I dont get it?

You have been given the answer and you even answered it yourself in bold above.
