I have a question on 404.8(A). We have an air breaker with a charging handle that is above the 2.0 meters allowed by the NEC for switches and circuit breakers. There are two mechanical pushbuttons that open and close the breaker that are located below the 2.0 meters. Would this be a violation of the code since the handle is really only for charging the closing springs that are operated by the "close" pushbutton? The pushbutton for opening the breaker operates mechanically without having to charge the springs.

I would say that the handle of which you speak is not the "operating handle of the . . . breaker." So it is not addressed by the 2 meter height requirement.
