In reference to section 200-7(c)(2)- '99 NEC: What have you seen as acceptable or not acceptable for "painting or other effective means"

I was just looking at a job that another contractor did, he used colored shrink, and the job looked good, nice and neat.
A bit more cost for heat shrink.

Move out here to MA and you will not have to worry about relabeling the switch loop wires. :D

If you see a white on a switch it is 'hot'. ;)

Bob, I couldn't agree more. If you don't know why the white wire is connected to the switch, you need to get a qualified electrician.

I was curious as to how big a deal other inspectors are making this requirement. We don't make a big deal out of it. Black tape is ok.
