Switch plates! Does anyone know where I can locate switch plates, for boxes that inadvertently extend upto a 1/8 to a 1/4" past the face of the brick...preferably in brushed stainless?

Back in the 70's we used wall plates made by Stemco that would fit your application.

I've seen plastic plates in three different depths, in the past. Can't lay my browser on any at the moment.

1/4" is a bit deep though.

However, Mulberry specializes in custom orders, if you've got the time and the price works.

how many are needed? if very few have someone fabricate some kind of backplate or modify a regular stainless plate. Is ther any way to modify the box, most boxes set in brick probably not or you will loose the device mounting holes.

I had to work behind someone in the past and came across this same problem in a poured block wall, I used a grinder on edges of box sticking out and used a hammer to carefully manipulate the screw tabs flush and redrilled & tapped the holes.... box may loosen in brick compared to poured block

You can use the screwless plates because they extend beyond the wall about a quarter of an inch. They also come in standard style and in stainless steel. This one is pass and seymour but I bet Lutron has them also.

Receptacle plates in block filled walls where the box sticks out too far.

We are really looking for stainless receptacle plates. It seems your ideas are for switches.

Thanks everybody for linkage and recommended solutions. Will be doing follow up, and see if we can get Boeing to buy off on the submittals of the recommended changes.

the screwless lutron and P&S plates will just sit on the edge of the box leaving a gap between the wall surface and the back of the plate. Seems to me the options are modify the box, or make a spacer. I vote for the latter, I would design a spacer out of stainless or whatever and have it laser cut (shouldnt be tooo bad. Maybe $100-$200 for a whole bunch of them)

custom plate from mulberry is a nice idea, but they punch or cut all their custom plates from the same blanks, to have the sides deeper to accomodate 1/4" of box edge is going to require expensive tooling.
