I am looking to add a wall light in an upstairs hallway. Is there any height requirement from the floor to where the light can go.

If its commercial and your fixtures protrude more than 4", stay away from the area between 27 and 80 inches, measured from the floor. Unless your fixture is partially lower than 27 or partially higher than 80. Does that make sense? :(

Even though it may not be addressed (I'm not aware of any codes for this) it might be a good idea to consider its location. If you can't mount it high enough to prevent head injury try to locate it where it is least likely to be a hazard. Keep in mind the surrounding environment so you don't create a fire hazard from the dissipated heat of the light fixture.
