Trying to find a code reference to see if it is leagal to install multiple receptacles in a 20A branch circuit where the receptacles are rated for less than 20Amps for a Commercial Application.

Also for lighting switches fed from a 20A branch circuit is there a code reference what the current rating range must be for that 20A circuit.

Must the Switches and recetacles current rating be the same as the overcurrent device. Thanks for any help.

You can use 15 amp receptacles on 20 amp multioutlet branch circuits. 210.21(B)(3)

Switches must have a rating for load they control. 404.14

NEC permits it but be sure the specs do not require.
