When switching 208 volt lighting, are you required to break both ungrounded conductors? Specs call for single pole 277 volt switches. These will not be a means of disconnect but rather a way for employees to turn lights off at the end of the day.

So this means even non serviceable disconnecting means? Just making sure of intent.

I think the intent is just what it says. There are other exceptions in the code for controllers vs. disconnects but art. 410 makes no mention of them.

That is correct, however there is still this one.
