I am trying to upgrade an HMI that is connected to a SY/MAX Class 8005 Type CP-50 PLC. I know the PC-50 comm. port is 422. Does anyone know the pin assignments?

the Sy/max manuals are on line at the sqaureD web site. this includes the pinout for the cable you will need.

The Symax Model 50 PLC went obsolete almost 15 years ago. For the vast majority of installations, it would cost less than $400 in new hardware to replace it with a current generation device. How much are they spending to put a new HMI onto this old system?

Upgrade was my first suggestion. Management looking at replaceing the machine this PLC is controlling. They dont want to upgrade the controls just want to keep it going for now.
I have downloaded every manual I can find on the wed for the PC-50 I can not find a pin out in any of them. jjacobs can you send me a link to the manual you are refering to?
