.Maybe someone has got the answer for me. We have a winder MG set drive motor AC a 3500 hp General Electric Synchronous motor driving two generators feeding two DC winder motors. The AC motor starts up with a korndorf starter nicely. When it switches over from star to run everything is still fine. Phasors it tact and balanced. When we apply the excitation 100 V 36 Amps the phasor flips and the complete system goes pear shape. The two video clips were taken today simultaneously on start up. Measuring meters are on the left a PM 800 and the led meter an ION 6200 feeding from the metering CT`s 400 / 5. The left meter is purely set at PF and the Ion is set to read the current from the stator. why does this happen because I cannot set the FOS settings on the protection relay. Another thing they rewound the motor from a 3300 to a 6600 volt system like 8 years ago. If it`s not to much can you please give me some guidance on why this happens. Thanks in advance.
