T/C's in Humid Environment

I have an application where I will weld the end of a T/C grade wire to use as a sensing point inside of a humid atmosphere (up to 95% humidity at 85 C).

Normally, I would use a stainless steel ring or sheath on the end of the T/C. For this application, I want to weld the end of the T/C together, and use it directly as my hot junction sensing point.

Would Type K be the better choice here since the T/C will be in a Humid environment? Chrome and aluminum are better against oxidization than copper (Type T) right? I know I give up some accuracy with the type K's, but I will use them if I can determine that the oxidization advantages outweigh the accuracy trade-off.
