I posted awhile ago...How to back feed a house from a 50 A gfci receptacle to hot check a house. The problem was that the gfci would see the neutral gound fault and trip..See T Poles and finals.....I found a way to fool the gfci breaker in the t pole and feed the house with 120 volts on each phase but there isn`t 240 there :D Any ideas as to how!!!!!

No Dave not hot chicks lol lol lol.Any way we used a 5 kva trans, 240/240 using 1 phase of the 50 amp gfci and the ground, this fooled the gfci and although we get only 120 v We can fully check the house way before a meter is set.

Still wondering why you just do not use a non GFCI breaker for the "hot check"

A GFCI is not required for the "hot check", read 527.6

Bob the reason is this. The safety man says if we open the t pole and leave it unattended then there is no qualifed person there unless we have a man to stand watch then that is not an alternative.Doig 2,000 homes a year thats allot of wasted manpower. Not an option. So We found how to fool the 50 amp gfci breaker in the Tpole.Actually i got the idea here.thanks Allen

What is wrong with this idea.Add a bell box under the T pole panel and run wires from the 20 amp breaker (non gfci),put blank wp cover on it.At hot check time run your wire to it and close the cover. No hazard involved now.Cost about $5 and 15 minutes per pole.

What kind of wire Jim romex ??? Not going to fly here.We have a 50 amp male cap for the t pole and a twist lock m/f to a 30 amp male cap for the dryer. Why the twist lock m/f so the we can disconnect the 30 amp with out having energized prongs. All being done under the guise of qualified personel on sight. :D

What will safety guy think of an ungrounded separately derived system?

Or are you driving a ground rod for the transformer? :D

How about not using the equipment properly? (240 equipment fed with 120)
