Has anyone else noticed the difference in prices of tamper resistant devices compared to the base. IE I noticed at the orange store that a decora TR outlet was 15 cents more than a non-tr but a TR gfci was 4 dollars more? Any reason for the difference or just ripping people off?

Supply and demand, I imagine. Or maybe it's harder to make a TR GFCI receptacle.

I noticed one electrician charging $2200 for a service upgrade and another charging $2000. Is the higher guy ripping people off. :grin:

Seriously I'd imagine they are a bit more expensive to make at this point. The prices have come down in the last year since they have been required.

In a few years you will be able to buy them cheaper and regular receps will be in the bargan bin.
