T stat question

I am not good with heating systems. I am just curious if the t stat that I installed is okay for the application. In my aunts house her heating system is as follows. From the 1st floor t stat you can control the heat for the 1st floor and the a/c for the whole house. But on the 2nd floor you can only control the heat for that floor. Now I replaced the t stat on the first floor with a Robershaw 5600 T stat. This is a link to the mannual

My question is she said it seems like the heat is running constantly. Is this T stat able to work for this application?

I chose the 5 wire heat/cool. And on the old t stat they removed the jumper between the rc and rh so I am assuming that it was running on two transformers. When she got home tonight she said the heat was set on 60 and the room was at 68 and was running.

You'll need to remove the small red jumper wire that is in there.

Between RH and RC.

Assuming that there is baseboard hw heat?

I copied everything from the old t stat onto this one. I am just confused why I set it for 60 and it was 68 when she got home? Fan is in auto mode and everything is the same as before:-? Stupid question perhaps would I need a two stage heating and one stage cooling t stat or is that not what would be needed?

Could be something unrelated, was the pump running? Have her check if it is.

Also could be a failed flowcheck on the supply pipe to the run. If the flowcheck sticks then the HW will migrate by itself and cause the boiler to cycle on its own if wired to work off it's limits.

I doubt the compressor is set up for a heat pump, not too common around here. Did she say if the pump was on? Oil fired boiler or gas?

Also make sure you did not set it up for an programming schedule, it could be changing up and down by itself.....

Sounds like the heat is on the A/C portion of the stat. It's trying to get the temperature down to 60 degrees.

Tell her its the small green looking thingy next to the boiler(assuming its a taco pump).LOL Could be black to if it was the pump that came with the Boiler.

Is the second floor still working ok?

Also She should be able to hear the relay click on and off as she raises and lowers the tstat from the basement stairs.
