By the way, the number in the name of the lamp type tells you the diameter of the lamp, in units of ?eighths of an inch.?

The T12 40 Watt lamp is not available anymore. It had approx 3200 lumen output.
The sylvania catalog still lists lots of 40W T12 lamps with 3200 lumens. They should still be available, unless you are under local regulations or laws that limit their availability.

The energy act basically only outlawed F40CW lamps. Other versions of the F40 are still allowed, especially the energy savings kind (often called F34) and special color temperatures. In fact Sylvania has 14 F40s in their catalog.

What I like was the F40SHOP offered by some retail outlets, which for all intents was the F40CW with a different name.

Jim, The CW is outranked by W & WW's as energy hogs, could the ban be because of UV output levels! The Deluxe (CWX) has one of the highest CRI ratings for reflective color trueness. Did the CWX end up in the dump too?
