HI,
Calif T24 Code says; Disaggreigate sub panels ; separate panel for lighting, power receptacle, Ac, motorized equipment per Calif. 2016 T24, table 130.5 (6)

my Question is;
can I just provide one sub panel for all AC equipment
and off this panel thru a properly sized breakers feed adjacent sub panels which can be dedicated for lighting & receptacle

????

Thank you

So the HVAC subpanel would have breakers for lighting and receptacle subpanels.

I won't pretend to understand anything that goes on in the state of California, but it doesn't seem to meet the requirement you posted.

not familiar with CA law but that is how I often do it

I put in a large panel
feed all mech loads off of it: chiller, ahu's, hw tanks, etc
they are usually a large percentage of the bldg load
I also have feeders from it for seperate lighting panels and recept pnls

yes, looks like that is acceptable
you need to measure: hvac, lighting, recept, seperately
you can use additive or subtractive methods
a table tells you based on service kva what loads must be indvidually metered
you can do it almost anyway you like as long as you meter per the schedule

meter the main and each panel
main - ltg - recept = hvac

thank you but,
this is not an answer to my question
this is the same statement that I and California made
