I have a question regarding 310.15(B)(6).

I have heard that T310.15(B)(6) only applies to single family dwelling units and not to two-family, or multifamily dwellings. Which is what it says in the NEC exam prep book that I am working through.

Here's my problem, as I read 310.15(B)(6), it states "For individual dwelling units of one-family, two-family, and multi-family dwellings...". I am sure that I am missing something here as this wouldn't be the first time, but what am I missing?

As always I look forward to any input that is offered. :-?

You are reading correctly, possibly over-thinking :D, 310.15(B)(6) applies to the dwelling unit..and each dwelling unit if its multifamily (as long as the other conditions such as 120/240 volt etc apply).
It does not apply to the service for the entire structure, just the individual units (all of them seperately)

Here's a diagram I once drew up on a similar question, related to the 2005 NEC. I think it's still accurate.

Edit to add: In this instance, only the feeders supplying Unit #1 and Unit #2 are able to make use of Table 310.15(B)(6). The others must abide by 310.16.

Thanks, I actaully answered the question myself, I went back to where all the confusion started, looking to document exact phrases, but apparently I misread it.
