What kind of results have you encountered using T8 lamps with a standard Ballast designed for T12 lamps. I am referring to the basic 2 lamp 4' ballast.

I can only recall seeing this attempted a couple of times. The times I saw it the T8 lamp would not strike. I have heard that sometimes they will strike but not last long. Why is this an issue for you?

I was on a job where they install the T8 lamps on the old ballast, and it appeared to be working ok, which suprised me. However, I don't know what the long term results are. I did not say anything to my customer because I did not know how to address it.

I had a similar thing once. My guys went out to relamp our main office accounting area. Large office space. All the ballasts had been changed before to T-8 and they installed T-12 bulbs. Lasted about 3 day's, then I got a call, "It looks like a disco tech out here, what's going on?"
