I don't think I've see this mentioned before. Can a ballast driven LED tube work with troffers with an emergency ballast? No one I know has tried this. Have any of you? This might be 1 situation where I would see an advantage to keeping emergency lights on ballasts.

Apparently no one has dealt with this. How about Aleddra LED tubes with built in battery backup? Has anyone seen or used them?

Never had the occasion to try it, usually offices and buildings that used those were being retrofitted with new troffers instead of retrofitting the fixture. It will be interesting to find out.

Why not if plug-in LED is listed for the ballast type?

Why not if installed per listed instructions?

24hr Fitness gyms in my area can't turn off lights in any room. Some lights are always on, since maintenance monkeys broke equip. listings by moving all EM ballasts to the switch leg.

Yes, if the lamps are designed to work with the existing ballast. you can try using the Iota i320-emergency back up ballast.
if you use bypass lamps you will need to use a 10 or 15w emergency driver.
