Would someone be so kind as to explain to me the logic of the 40 or 50 amp receptacle allowed to be used on a 40 amp circuit? Would attaching a 50 amp load to a 50 amp receptacle, trip the 40 amp breaker? I see in the table that such a condition is not allowed on the 15 amp circuit. Any explanation for this?
