My guess is that the Table names cause confusion when you do calculation. I think it is there just to bring your attention to the receptacle load because it is part of the demand factor calculation.

Art. 220.44 tells us that receptacle loads are part of lighting demand in table 220.42. The Table name is lighting load but when we do the calculation we use the watts/sq.ft and the receptacle loads when we apply the demand factor. Why do we call that Table a lighting load demand factor when receptacles are in there also.
