According to Table 300.50, the minimum cover requirements for a PVC conduit containing 13.8kV conductors is 18 inches. And note "b" modifies it by stating that if the conduit is not listed as suitable for direct burial then you also need to have a 2" concrete slab over it.
I don't want the 2" slab but am having difficulty finding some manufacturers paper work which boasts about conduit that is suitable and listed for direct burial when used for 13.8kV or greater.
Carlon PVC Sch 40 conduit data sheets state it is listed for "underground applications encased in concrete or direct burial" but do not indicate any voltage limitations. Is there something else missing or does that mean it is good enough to bury....no slab....and no guff from the inspector.
