Since the beginning this Table has been unchanged.
1. WHY IS THE MATH WRONG? 3x2x2 = 12 NOT 10
2. IF THE MFG WOULD STAMP THE CORRECT CU.IN. ON THE BOX WOULD THIS CHANGE THE TABLE?
3. The way it is now the only box you can use in the 2 inch wide group for 1 romex #12 in and 1 romex #12 out with grounds a clamp and a duplex outlet is a 3x2x3.5

Because those are the outer dimensions, not the inside ones. The volume in the table is correct.

Find a larger metal box -- a 4" x 2 1/8 one or use a 4 square box with a single gang mud ring.

You need a newer code book -- the NEC changed from dashed to dots a long time ago. The table is now in 314.16 unless they moved it again for 2014.

The 99 was the last of the dash.
