Table 400-4 refers to terms 'hard usage' and 'extra hard usage' in the column under use. Is there a deffinition of these terms?

None in the NEC or UL that I can find. But, Hard Usage would be of a construction to resist most normal abuse, and Extra Hard Usage would be constructed to a higher standard. I would imagine that these standards would be spelled out in the manufacturing regulations.
Or: Hard Usage - ridden hard
Extra Hard usage - ridden hard and put away wet.
(Applies to motor cycles)
