On a recent practice test question, I was asked to find the full load current of a three phase 208V 7.5 HP SQUIRREL CAGE motor with a 80% power factor. Table 430.250 has an asterisk for power factors of Synchronous type motors. Does the 1.1 and 1.25 multiplier apply to induction type squirrel cage motors as well?

No. The asterisk applies only to synchronous motors just as indicated. Section 430.6 is still the basis for common motors.
