There are lots of different types of schools.
406.12 (3) Child care facilities.
406.12(4) Preschools and elementary school facilities.
406.12 (6) read carefully to make sure you don't fall into that category.

Nothing is ever as cut and dried as you would like.

is it code that tamperproof receptacles have to be
installed in schools?

Why not just quote the job using tamper-proof, and then highlight that safety factor in your bid. This way it catches the reader's eye, make you bid a better option. Or, provide it as a recommended option if the school type does not require it.

I think that you meant tamper resistant.

Welcome to the Forum. :)

Like watches, its "water proof" until you reach 30m, after that the proof goes poof.

The tamper crud is proofed from the force of a feather, after that perhaps a twig in baby's hand it's resistant, after that its a bzzzzzz-bam.

Usually it only takes one zzzzzzzap! for baby to stay away from outlets. They're quick learners!!

Didn't work for me! :p

Too funny.

Most here probably don't know what these are, but I did not put my fingers in outlets, i just wired stuff into them to see what would happen. These were fun.

Living on the edge back in the days was fun!
Did it those only need 3-6 volts to burn? 120v blew them into oblivion

When I was in 4th grade, I took some pieces of telephone wire that I'd found, stripped off the ends, bent them into a U-shape, and stuck them into the school's electrical outlets. My friends were impressed by the resulting light show. Somehow the school principal found out, called me to his office, and gave me a little lecture about the dangers of electricity. That was the last time I did such foolishness (although I've done plenty of other foolish things in my lifetime).

No calling my parents. No "zero tolerance" school suspension. Ahhh... the good ole' days.

Are those the ones that are electrically fired, or the ones with the spring-loaded ignition that didn't need batteries?
