article 406.11
where do you have to put damper resistant receptacles in homes
the code says installed behind appliances above countertops and other locations out of reach of children.
do you have to install tamper resistant receptacles in bedrooms.

406.11 Tamper-Resistant Receptacles in Dwelling Units.

In all areas specified in 210.52, all 125-volt, 15- and 20-ampere receptacles shall be listed tamper-resistant receptacles.

We are still on the 2002. I did a search for tamper resistant receps and the picture of them looks like a normal one. I was thinking they would look like a child proof type.
Anyone have a link of these devices? And what makes them tamper resistant?

Just a little fun with the inspector

You are required TR's in all the locations specified in 210.52. Put a "regular" receptacle for servicing the Air Handler in the attic and see if you can't get a discussion going with your inspector. I bet that you will.

If you are on the 2002 NEC code cycle then tamper resistant receptacles are NOT required.
As for the OP's question, pretty much all receptacles in a residence must be the TR type.
