I just learned about commercial receptacles that offer internal screw-and-clamp connections. I'm considering their use in a new residential project, but they must also be tamper-resistant.

The wires are 'back-stabbed' but instead of spring-clamped connections these receptacles use internal serrated flat clamps which are tightened by the side terminal screws. Here's a picture:

What are your experience with them? Are they worth the extra cost? They certainly seem like they would be fast and foolproof to install, and reliable on a long-term basis.

My problem is finding suppliers for receptacles like these that offer both the tamper-resistant feature and also the screw-and-clamp connection feature. If you know who makes them can you please post the manufacturer's name / item numbers / product numbers?

I would guess most manufacturers make them, but that doesn't mean there is enough demand for them that you will commonly find a supplier that stocks them - especially the TR version.

All the GFCI receptacles I have used for past 10-15 years have that type of terminal - even the TR versions - but are much more expensive then a non GFCI receptacle:)

The cost when the receptacles are the same grade as in commercial CS120 to commercial CSB120, but not to go from residential to commercial which is the only way you will get tamper recepts with back and side wire. the cost difference is like, $2 each.
