i know the one on the outside needs to be wp but does that one need
to be tamper resistant also

thanks

Can you pull your van into it?

Well, maybe first thing in the morning after I've had some Wheaties. At the end of the day, I'd rather drive it in.....:D

But a shed could also be a garden shed,

or a machine shed.

I see a garage regardless of what the owner calls it as long as motor vehicles are stored in it.:)

They can call it a carport, car stall, parking lot, parking space, repair shop, shop, storage etc.

garage (gə-r?zh', -r?j')

n.
A building or indoor space in which to park or keep a motor vehicle.
A commercial establishment where cars are repaired, serviced, or parked.

So what's the difference between a shed and a garage?

It also depends on what Code cycle ('08 or other) the OP is going by. If it's not the '08, it's a moot point.

My point was that a detached garage IMHO, would need tamper resistant receptacles under the 2008 NEC.

Alot of times what the owner calls a "shed" is in fact a detached garage.

I agree that a small "garden or tool shed" would not be a garage but the larger building that you showed would definatly be a garage.

like everone says, it not a dwelling of any type.

I don't think anyone has said a garage is a dwelling unit.

But follow the 2008 code sections. 406.11 requires TR receptacles "In all areas specified in 210.52" When we go to 210.52 we find 210.52(G) Basement and Garages.

IMO that means all garages that are on the same property as a dwelling unit that have receptacles will have to use TR receptacles.

The weird thing is....the guy asked about a shed and as per usual rather than just answering the question it turns into a cluster bleep.....

I guess it isn't that weird. :D
