Tandem breakers Eaton Non CTL changes

So on their twin breakers Eaton has asked for the “NON-CTL FOR REPLACEMENT ONLY” marking to be removed and inspectors are supposed to accept them now in new installations.
Do any of you guys put in twins on new installs? I thought this was more a case of getting that extra circuit in an old panel installation..

I asked this same question last year. Seems that this is floating out there with no clear cut response from anyone. Eaton seems to think that the non-CTL designation is no longer applicable and is designing panels with that in mind.

The document you posted from NC is the one I’m reading and the reason I’m asking.
I’ve noticed and wondered the exact same thing regarding the 20/40

The part of this that I find troubling is that a major panel manufacturer would take it upon themselves to design these panels without any clear guidance as to whether or not they're code complaint.

Is it possible that they installed the wrong bus during manufacture or used the wrong packaging ? The bus is supposed to be notched.

I've purchased panels from big box stores labeled 150A main breaker panel. When I got it to the job there was a 200A main installed in a 30 circuit panel. People make mistakes.

No, these Eaton panels are designed specifically for use with non-CTL circuit breakers.
