Curious to exactly how you guys assembly tandem mountedfixtures. If you have a fixture that comes in only 4’ lengths and is installed asone continuous 20’ run pendant mounted how do you go about the install? Do you guysfield assemble each 4’ section in the field on the floor? Sounds like the only way.

For most, I believe it depends on how many adjoined fixtures can be suspended by two points.

I don't believe I've ever joined (5) 4' fixtures but in order to fly all 5, I am of the impression that more than two support points and/or an additional support member (such as strut) will be required.

Of course more than (2) pendants would be required for a 20'? I don't understand.

I thinking along the lines of what jumper implies... you are stringing several strip light fixtures together.

What I'm saying is you'd only assemble on the floor however many will remain rigid when you "fly" them, and that would be the same number of fixtures that can be supported by two chains or cables.

It is possible to assemble more of the floor, but then you need one electrician for every support and means to elevate the assembly at the same time. Hard to get three sets of hands to keep the assembly straight for the duration. This is where an additional rigid support member, such as strut, is recommended.
