Hire an electrician? :D

OK you can stop throwing things at me. :p

IMO A tap is made without breaking the original wire or run.

There are many different listed connectors available to do this.

Split bolts, H-Taps etc.

Re: tap connection

Should we be in the gas fitters forum asking questions we have no business asking?

Now lets see  that plumbers crack.

Re: tap connection

Well, we could ask him how to build and use a water pipe, I'm sure he has experience along those lines as well.

If he has a mechanic friend, perhaps he could look at the carb.

Scott, that link almost made me fall outta my chair, good job. :D

I had to get my licks in before the thread went up in smoke. :p

Re: tap connection

It could be just my typical attitude :D
But, I think that hack electrical work is worse than hack plumbing work.

I would venture an unqualified guess (I am not a fire inspector) that more people escape from a house with a leaking water pipe safely, than escape from one burning down from an electrical fault.

And I drink for effect. I figure why go through the, constant bathroom visits, dry mouth, wife nagging, flatulance, and all, if I don't get to enjoy it.
