Tap Meter Stack Disconnect Box for New Meter Stack

Is there any issues with tapping an existing meter stack disconnect box in order to feed a new meter stack?

Is this something electricians routinely do with no problems?

I think you'd need to start with a good old-fashioned load calc.

Is the box approved for adding load lugs to the busbars?

Thanks, I ran the load calcs. and loading is not an issue.

As far as your second question, I'm not sure. Any advice on this? Call/check with manufacturer?

This leads me to a new question. When adding the new branch ring, does it need it's own tap box to connect to or can it be any standard JB?

I would think you're restricted to the manufacturer's approved method(s) of supplying the stack.
