Greetings all, I am contemplating a 3 wire (no ECG) outside feeder tap to supply a new garage/shop building. An existing 200A feeder goes from a pole mounted service and feeds a single family home. It was installed under older versions of the code that allowed a 3 wire feeder (no ECG) and is only about 50' away from the new building.
The way I am reading 250.32(B) Exception 1 is it allows running a 3 wire feeder tap off the existing feeder to the new building (and establishing a N-G bond to the UFER at the new building).
Do you all agree?
Its a pretty long run to get to the service pole otherwise we would just trench to the pole, which we still might do.
Thanks in advance
