Hello, I am French and I work for a machine manufacturer.
We have sometimes machine for the United States, and the control panel must be UL508A certified.

I have a question regarding grounding bars. Do they need to be UL certified?
In the UL508A standard, I see that "Grounding braids" must be certified, but there is no mention of grounding bars.

I was thinking of using a non-certified tapped copper bar and only specifying the required tightening torque to comply with point "54.4 All field wiring terminals shall be marked with the tightening torque determined from...".

Thank you in advance for your answers and your expertise!

You can use copper bar as a conductor. So no reason it cannot be a ground conductor.

It's the most expensive way to do so though. Too much labor.

For most cases the least expensive way is to use the green/yellow DIN rail mounted terminals.
