Tapping Lateral Service

We have a job were bidding on and was wondering if it's legal in your jurisdiction to tap off an underground lateral going to a home to set another meter off of it for a separate garage (detatched) on a separate residential meter (both billed to same house address). This would make this particular job extremely easier in this situation. Calling the engineer monday but just curious how it is in your all's neighborhoods. Also, do they make a underground tap like a T-Tap Polaris or something of that sort to make this work ?

Sounds like an issue left to PoCo to allow or disallow. Most likely they would want to install a pedestal tap box.

In my mind I see you installing a Quazite box & Polaris taps for this job ? As mopowr Steve said call the POCO for guidance.
