I am remodeling a kitchen, access to kitchen is open in basement but the rest is finished back to the panel. I need to feed a dishwasher and a garbage disposal. There’s an un-landed drier cable (10-2) that goes to the panel and also (6-2) cable, un-landed, I could use this for a future juice box charger(40 amps) install for garage. Could I tap the 10-2 to feed the dishwasher(unknown amperage) and garbage disposal(6.5 amps) as I stated the 10-2 is not feeding anything. I think It satisfies 210.3 and 210.4, the panel has plenty of room.

Don’t tap it, just put a 15 or 20 amp breaker on it and proceed as it were a branch circuit. AFCI and/or GFCI protect as needed. Your DW or GD instructions may have some recommended overcurrent restriction. If Units are too big, put the #10 on a 30 amp and feed a small sub in the basement as you’re thinking.

Why is the dryer cable only a 10/2? You should specify the cable type. Is it NM-B cable?

You could extend it, but if it's not a 4-wire (10/3 w/ ground), you can't make it a MWBC or subpanel feeder.

NM-B cable, 10/2 with ground, yeah I got my wires crossed thinking I could use it as MWBC

Good question.

It could be used as a 120v feeder, supplying two 1p breakers.

That sounds promising

To be compliant, you would have to use the 10-2 as a 120v circuit or feeder, not 240v.

I was originally thinking the 10/2 into a jbox and (2) 12/2 cables to feed GD and DW in close proximity. Fed from a 20 amp breaker
